Reiki Sessions and Classes

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique developed in the beginning of the 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. In this gentle, effective therapy, universal life energy, or Reiki, is channeled through the crown chakra and out of the hands of the practitioner.  Reiki is used for healing on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  It is an incredibly relaxing treatment where both practitioner and recipient typically enter into a meditative state within minutes of starting.  It should leave you feeling calm and peaceful, but not tired, with a clear mind and grounded energy. 

Reiki is beneficial for any and all diseases because it helps the body heal itself and boosts the immune system of the receiver.  It has been shown to increase recovery time after surgery and illness.  It can alleviate muscle and joint pain.  On an emotional level, it can also reduce stress and anxiety and promote healthy sleeping patterns.  Reiki also helps to clear and balance the chakras and the aura.

My Reiki classes are each 12 hours long and are usually scheduled in three parts over three weeks, or as individual schedules permit.  The cost for Reiki I, Reiki II and Advanced Practice classes are $200, $150 if you are taking the class with a partner or friend. 

Each course consists of: A discussion of Reiki, learning about or reviewing the human energy field, ethics, an attunement and Reiki sharing where the students get to practice on each other.  Each course builds upon the previous one.

* Usui Reiki I - 1998 at the Kathmandu Center for Healing in Nepal from Reiki Master Peter Etten Sargar. 

* Usui Reiki I and II - 1998 at the Loving Touch Center in Brooklyn, NY by Reiki Master Teachers Fran Russo, Elaine Elaine Vogelstein and Judith DeCresenzo.

* Usui Reiki Master Practioner - 2007 Reiki Advanced Practitioner (Reiki Master) at the Reiki Healing Center in Media, PA by Reiki Master Teacher Myra Reichel. 

* Usui Reiki Master Teacher - 2009 completed an approximately 150 hour Reiki Master Teacher certification program at the Reiki Healing Center Reiki Healing Center in Media, PA by Reiki Master Teacher Myra Reichel. 

* Karuna Reiki Levels I and II - 2008 at the Reiki Healing Center by Myra Reichel.  Karuna Reiki is very powerful energy that grounds as well as heals.  To read more about Karuna Reiki see the Karuna Reiki page at Reiki.org.
